STAFF APPLICATIONS
VOLUNTEERS WANTED Every community, big and small, needs its shepherds. People must sleep, step away, and generally take care of their lives, so having some back up in these situations is essential to maintaining the health of the community, and so it becomes necessary to expand the staff to meet the community's needs.
Corinthean Dawn utilizes a number of different staff roles, each with different expectations and responsibilities.
Staff Types
- Administrator
- Moderator
- Junior Mod
- Community Mod
- Story Mod
Moderators and Junior Moderators fill a similar role, with a different level of authority and longevity. Junior moderators are typically first-time staff volunteers and are "in training" while regular moderators are those who have been in service for some time.
Moderators will cover applications and appeals of all types and can grant approval without oversight. Junior mods may be restricted to the type of content they can review and will be subjected to stricter oversight to ensure that they are providing a sufficient degree of feedback and maintaining a similar vision to the rest of staff when doing so.
Moderators are reviewed by the administrator on a regular basis, and so long as they are meeting expectations, they will be allowed to volunteer for another term. Each term for a moderator is expected to be six months. A junior moderator is reviewed every three months, and will generally serve as a junior moderator for two.
Community Moderators do not have any responsibilities on the forum. Instead, they are dedicated to the community Discord server and help keep things running smoothly. Like Junior Moderators, Community Mods are reviewed on a three month schedule.
Story Mods are a special type of staff. They focus exclusively upon the story of Corinthean Dawn and thus do not perform any reviews, grant approvals, or moderate the Discord. Their job is to primarily generate and run developments for the community, as well as assist voluntary game masters when they need it.
The number of each staff type will be adjusted to suit the needs and workload of the community.
Basic Staff Requirements Staff membership is purely voluntary. There is no compensation of any sort for being part of staff, and in fact, some restrictions may be added. For example, staff members may not hold the primary IC leadership roles for any faction.
Staff members must have at least one active character, must have been active in RP threads on the forum, and an active member of the community.
To apply for staff, you must have been a member for a minimum of two weeks, but one or two months might be better. This period of time is to give the current administrator and staff a chance to assess for a suitable fit.
Current Needs 1x Community Moderator
Special Requirement: Community Moderator would ideally be active on a typical European schedule to fill gaps in coverage. How to Apply Applying to be a member of staff is quite simple. Send a DM on the forum to Last Order (Last Order) and title it Staff Application: Title (Story/Community/Junior Mod).
Include any justifications you have for becoming staff, such as how you fill any particular requirements that staff is currently looking for.
If you would like to provide a brief resume of past experience that would not be the worst thing to include. However, in most cases, administration will know if you are suitable for the role or not by the time you apply.
