» PLAYED BY: Paulburt1 PROFILE THEIR ASPECTA simple termagant in the customary colors of Moloch. Red under belly and black carapace. The main difference that sets Karametra apart is the fact that her fleshborer is modified to shoot walnut sized seed of tyranid creep.
Usually one of a larger swarm of like minded individuals, Karametra often finds herself isolated and cannot return to her previous lairs. But she is quick to find another roving pack of termagants to join.

THEIR PERSONA4 years is ancient for a termagant, Karametra can still recall the day her mother tervigon was brought low by bolter fire and the synapse network snapped. Ever since, Karametra has made it her goal to reestablish her connection whatever that took. She has been searching for a synapse creature powerful enough to give her back that connection. She travels among a small group of Termagants, subtly guiding their pack direction towards synapse creatures that are nearby. Once she finds a suitable synapse creature, Karametra starts to tyrannoform the area just enough to provide protection.
Mom: The term for synapse creatures. Has a lot of motherly connotations hence why the term "mother" most closely fits.
Matron: This term and naming convention is what Karametra uses to refer to non-synapse important creatures. (Such as large tyranid bioforms like a Haruspex or Mawloc) Tunneler in particular is a Mawloc that has traveled in the area Karametra is now, leaving behind large tunnels in the bedrock of the world. While they have never actually met, Karametra has a great respect for Tunneler. (Tunneler is most likely long dead, but Karametra does not know that yet.)
Not-Mom: Particularly fierce and territorial Tyranid creatures which Karametra secretly works to undermine. Such as the couple of Pyrovores named Flish & Flash. Karametra is not too fond of these two, as they're a bit aggressive towards Karametra.

She often times moves lairs with Karametra and focuses on creating smaller tunnelways for ease of access and escape routes in the tunnels left by Tunneler during the initial invasion. Rixie likes the creep that Karametra spreads and the fruit it bears.

They really don't like to be bitten. They start shooting on sight. So to combat this, Karametra has started creating Bioforests in their most valuable harvest crops. These Bioforests are just dangerous enough to house one, maybe two significant tyranid lifeforms. But t=at the same time not enough to cause any higher response from the moon men than a small hunting cadre to eliminate the Tyranid bioforms.
THEIR APTITUDESTermagants are slightly more than two metres from head to tail, and were originally created to roam the arterial passages of Bio-ships as agile bodyguards searching for intruders.
Termagants are among the first species of Tyranid dispatched when a Hive Fleet invades a system. In battle they are often seen accompanying Tyranid Warriors. In fact, there is a strange affinity between the two species. Termagants will react instinctively when a Tyranid Warrior is threatened by swamping the opponent with overwhelming numbers before the Warrior can be harmed. This reaction may be to protect the Synapse ability of Warriors and so preserve the Hive Mind's control over the Tyranid swarm.
Termagants are naturally cunning and have a strong sense of self-preservation. Often they will skirt an enemy ambush and instead find a way to assail their foe from an unexpected quarter, or they will seek out and exploit enemy weak points. If cut off from the Hive Mind's influence, a Termagant's self-preservation instinct will take control and they will typically abandon the fight in search of shelter. This seeming weakness means however that Termagants remain a threat once a Tyranid assault has been defeated since every cave, ruin, or path of undergrowth that surviving defenders pass by could conceal a nest of Termagants ready to attack upon discovery. In some circumstances the Hive Mind will suppress the survival instincts of Termagants to instead send them rushing forward for the sole purpose of depleting enemy ammunition stores.
By shedding clouds of microscopic nodules and allowing them to take root in the bedrock of the prey world, Tyranids sow bitter crops of spore organisms that will later erupt and corrupt enemy territory. In preparation for the complete assimilation of biomass on this prey world, it is necessary to seed Tyranid structures on the battlefield, from sporecaster organisms to digestion pools.

Can fire Tyrannoforming spores out of her weapon. These walnut sized seeds can sprout into creep within hours, but for a full spire to grow would require about a year or two. Blood sucking vines and tendrils could take a month or two to grow a patch.

BIOGRAPHY Karametra, the GardenerKarametra remembers her first experiences being birthed while her mother was dying. The Space marines were firing everything from large flying weapons to small arms fire. As soon as the synapse snapped, Karametra was thrown into a panic and she fled with the rest of her sisters into the forests around her. As the following year showed Karametra the decline of her sisters, she started on her cross country trek. She traveled for moths, leaving behind spores on the off chance that they'd spawn and grow, but without much hope. Eventually, after about 3 years, Karametra settled inside a hollowed out cavern and started seeding creep to keep it structurally sound. This cave may have once been one of the Moonmen's tunneling organisms, or one of Karametra's sisters, Karametra didn't care. It was here now. it provided safety and a place to sleep. By the time Karametra was finally happy with the place, a pair of tyranid spires had erupted from the top of a nearby mountain. The spires were rather unique in that fact that they twisted around each other in a double helix formation. |
