Krugg Ironjaw
OVERVIEW » NAME: Krugg Ironjaw
» ALIAS: The Iron Fist!, Big Krugg
» AGE: 30ish
» GENDER: Male
» AFFILIATION: Imperium
» OCCUPATION: Monster Hunter
» FACE CLAIM: Artwork
» PLAYED BY: mudcrabsamurai PROFILE THEIR ASPECTAs an Ogryn Krugg towers over other loyalists, and if he decides he doesn't want to slouch, even the odd space marine (though there are some out there that still trump the big lad... for now at least.) at over 3 metres tall. And is about the same again in width, being a veritable cube of musculature. His small green eyes hold an eerie cunning in them which belies his nature as an Alpha strain, and this is sometimes mirrored in his speech.
Krugg loves his gear, and is hardly ever seen without it, taking full advantage of his Ogryn physiology to carry things with him. He keeps his chunky carapace armor close whenever he isn't wearing it, seemingly a great source of pride. There's always a great smile on that big face of his, a face that looks like its run into a wall... and won?, whenever toting a guh, or swinging a weapon, even an Alpha strain is still an Ogryn after all.
For the most part Krugg finds himself at home with many of the elements of the Imperium, and will greet the adepts of the mechanicus with an equal amount of gusto as the Emperors Angels of the Adeptus Astartes, with a grin, a wave, and if he thinks they won't telescope under the pressure, a pat on the shoulder.
Noteworthy Features » Big Beamin' Grin » Big and Tall » Walking Armory » Smarter'n the Average Ogryn » Generally Friendly
THEIR PERSONAKrugg's a man who wears his heart on his sleeve. And his shirt. And his boots. And isn't particularly afraid of telling others what he thinks of them. Whether its picking somewhere to eat, or going over the top of a trench, he mulls over the situation with a look of contemplation, then sticks to a decision even if it leads to an unexpected result.
As with many others of his kind, Krugg is protective of "the lil'uns", knowing that as an Ogryn he can take and dish out alot more punishment than their smaller frames can take. This can be at times come across as though he is dismissive of the smaller folk, or implying they're not up for the task, but deep down it comes from the place of concern. After all, it takes alot of effort for an Ogryn to remember a bunch of names and faces, only for them to end up in pinewood boxes.
Despite this, Krugg's overall outlook on life is a positive one. He's surrounded by friends, has no end of things to bash or shoot, and has arrived in the shiny new Corinthean sector. He's keenly interested in making more friends, especially if it gets him closer to his chief goal of bigger and better gear, all the better to bash and shoot bigger enemies of the Imperium.
» POSITIVE TRAITS✔ Brave ✔ Loyal ✔ Keen Observation ✔ Trustworthy Vibe | » NEGATIVE TRAITS✘ Overprotective ✘ Stubborn/bullheaded ✘ Simple Worldview ✘ Very Large |
» LIKES✔ Better Weapons/Armour! ✔ Good Food! ✔ Good Fighting! ✔ Good Friends! | » DISLIKES✘ Bad'uns ✘ Liars ✘ Tight Spaces ✘ Necrons (cant eat em) |
THEIR CONNECTIONSAllies » Brogga the AnvilLongtime friend of Krugg's and a regular 'Bashin Buddy', Brogga is the stereotypical Ogryn. Loud, Brash, Dumb, but with a big ol lovin heart. The two became fast friends on their last deployment when Brogga and Krugg had a bet with each other over who could collect the most heretic helmets! They both lost count... » Nicodemus KaineAn arch-militant on a rogue trader vessel, Nicodemus has from time to time 'lost' certain articles of warmaking that conveniently turn up in Krugg's hands. Whether this is with the trader's knowledge or not remains to be seen, but the two can occasionally be seen having a banter and a drink at stardock whenever the ship comes in. » Ophelia von SmytheA hard-working officer in the Astra Militarum, Krugg likes Ophelia because she knows what she wants done, and Ophelia likes Krugg because he does it. He saved her life back on Epsilon VII by biting off a Black Legionnaire's fingers, which is also where he got his moniker. He loved the medal he got for it, the next day in the privy... not so much. Enemies » Captain Erasmus JerichoIf there's one thing Krugg hates, it's a liar, and there are few bigger in Krugg's mind than Captain Erasmus Jericho. When Krugg took orders from Jericho to hold a ridge from enemy attack, he returned successful only to be blamed by Jericho for not aiding in an entirely different front! Krugg can't touch a military captain though... at least... not out in the open. » Kaptin GitzoggaGitzogga was Krugg's original inspiration for the "Privat'ear", and he couldn't be more livid! Here was a humie going around doing all the sorts of things that Orks do, but more... well... Ogryn-y! He has sworn vengeance on the Ogryn, with a rattling of a power kutlass, and a gnashing of his teef. » Kaladdak DoombornKnown as the 'Infamous Strategist of the Primordial Eye' this Black Legionnaire was part of the Epsilon VII campaign that involved Krugg and Ophelia. Part of the strikeforce sent to deal with the chain of command, he was blindsided by the big man who bit off all four fingers on his left hand. This of course led to a loss of respect amongst his fellow traitor marines, after all, what sort of strategist fails to see a meat-mountain like Krugg coming?
THEIR APTITUDESKrugg, as an Ogryn, loves to fight. Orks, Heretics, Marines, Eldar, doesn't matter. If the fight is there, he'll have a go, and he's been around long enough to get really good at it. Indeed whether its throwing a hail of lead downrange, or bludgeoning an enemy in melee, Krugg seems to exert a kind of brutish-combat style of his own devising. In this way he strives to make up for his own lack of finesse, and to put as much of his large size to use, for he knows his enemies will surely use that against him.
As friendly as he is, Krugg lacks certain... social graces. Certainly not the kind of person you would invite to the Rogue Trader's High Banquet. (Not unless you wanted to cause a stir anyway). Even his enhanced Alpha level IQ can't save him there.
» STRENGTHS✔ Alpha Strain (Smart) ✔ Bigger'n an average Ogryn ✔ Tougher'n an average ogryn ✔ Combat expert | » WEAKNESSES✘ Lacks Finesse ✘ Large Target ✘ Not made for stealth ✘ Prone to getting carried away

Abnormal Traits » Ogryn GripHaving spent alot of time around the Bone'eads Krugg has picked up a trick or two, the most impressive physically being Ogryn Grip. Through Repeated training and attempts, Krugg's learned to wield two handed 'human' sized weapon in one massive Ogryn Mitt. The learning of this talent cost him a fair amount of rations though, those bone'eads sure are a stingy bunch. » RockA seemingly normal rock that Krugg keeps upon his person, with a pair of googly eyes irrevocably stuck to it. Krugg confers with the rock from time to time, asking its judgement of new companions, battle strategies, and a host of other strange questions.
ACCOUTREMENTS THEIR WEAPONS» Lorenz MKV KickbackAn Ogryn-sized scattergun with firepower to match. Utilizes singular giant cartridges to inflict devastation either to hordes or single targets, with a variety of shells depending on situation.
Lorenz MK V Kickback » Foe-Rend Ripper GunThe Ogryn ripper gun is a large, brutal, and simple weapon designed for use by the larger abhuman strain. It is a heavy automatic shotgun, built as simply and sturdily as possible in order to survive being used by the Ogryns who use it as much as a club as a firearm. It can fire either a heavy shell or a hail of shot from its chunky box magazine.
Ripper Gun » Lorenz MKIII Man-HewerYour average eviscerator is as long as a man is tall, and filled with razor sharp chain-teeth to boot. The Lorenz manufactora (with the advisement of a few bone'eads) decided to take the idea and upsize it. The resulting slab of reinforced metals is known as the Man-Hewer, and it takes the brawniest of Ogryns to swing one in battle. They have even been known to repel arms fire, on account of the solidity of their construction and the durability of the materials used. Of course such a beast requires a larger engine, and the ingenious quirk of leading to red-hot chain-teeth, and more cutting power.
It is easily Krugg's Pride and joy.

THEIR ARMORKrugg's Plate
Krugg's well worn battle armor is infact just heavily modified Bullgryn Plate. Custom-made carapace armour made out of discarded pieces of tank, these suits can weather as much punishment as the abhuman wearing them.

THEIR EQUIPMENT » Brute Brainer MK V Latrine ShovelMost ogryns first duty in the guard is to dig, either trenches or latrines. A ubiquitous tool for burying or excavating mines, digging latrines, and in a pinch, bludgeoning foes. These models are extra large for use by Ogryns. » Ogryn Proof Portable Auspex
» High Tensile Strength Rope
» Rhox-Hide Greatcoat
Rhox are large, hardy creatures from a high gravity world, well known for their thick hides and sour temperament. Of note are the spiny ridges along their back. This greatcoat incorporates both, in an ogryn sized package, and allows the big-man to keep warm.
» Big Rucksack
» "Frog" A xenobiological lifeform that looks more or less like the terran Amphibian
» Ogryn Proof Comm-bead
THEIR VEHICLESN/A for now...
BIOGRAPHY Born on a reclaimed Space-Hulk over the Montar Mining Colony, Krugg learned early that he was different from the other Ogryns bound for a life in the mines. Though he also learned early that if he wanted to make it off that rock, he'd need to keep it quiet, at least until he had some more leeway with where he went.
When he came of age, he signed up for the mining colony, kissed his momma goodbye, and got to work. It was hard labour, but fulfilling, and there was a time he could have seen his life working out fine in such a simple manner, he even found a pet Rock. But a raid on the mines led Krugg to his one true passion in life, smashing and bashing. Rounding up a group of "the lads" armed with shovels, mining picks, and other tools they ensured the raiders got alot more than they bargained for.
But that wasn't all, upon reaching the foreman's office, Krugg and co were greeted by the arch-militant of a passing Rogue Trader, who offered them all a job on the spot. Seeing his chance, Krugg immediately accepted, and when the foreman complained he was promptly silence by the glare of many ogryn eyes. Over the next few years Krugg was lucky enough to travel the system, (often just to end up bashing whatever ended up being there) but overall having a smashing great time of it. It was on these journeys that he found his friend "frog".
But as with all things, eventually he got the wanderlust once more, and, saying his goodbyes, departed the next time they were in port. It would not be long before the erstwhile Ogryn found work again, this time as a member of the God Emperor's Inquisition, where... once again, he bashed and smashed with the best of them.
Now, once again a free-agent within the Corinthe System, he's positive about the future, there's tons of friends, tons of things to fight, and no end in sight. An ogryns dream.
