Shengxie, the Shards of Infinity

SHENGXIE CHAOS - RELIC » Common Name: The Shards of Infinity » Used By: Azraea » Purpose: A deadly force weapon and artefact of chaos capable of shattering into thousands of tiny shards, each controlled by the psyker Noteworthy Features Shengxie is a powerful sword belonging to the one-time ruler of a long forgotten stellar empire, and since then it has been twisted by the whims of the chaos god, Tzeentch as a gift to the daemon prince Azraea. At its core, Shengxie is analogous to an imperial force sword, and is able to attune to the energies of the warp to empower it beyond what it's mere metal blade can handle. However, Shengxie has changed a great deal since it was first created. It appears broken, shattered into thousands of shards and tiny fragments, which are then suspended and held together by psychic might so that it once more takes on the guise of a large sword.  Shengxie can be wielded as a traditional sword, with it's constituent parts more or less assembled into a whole blade, then wielded against a foe. However, the more likely scenario, is that it is filled with psychic energy, giving each of the tiny slivers and shards a life of their own. In doing so, Shengxie can split apart into a swirling vortex of tiny metallic slivers.  Doing so can be rather taxing, as controlling the shards in any great number is a difficult mental task, but it can be reduced by controlling them in bulk, rather than individually. However, precision becomes harder to achieve in such a manner. Either way, Shengxie is likely to be a major threat to any who face it when wielded by a skilled psyker.  Appearance There was a time when Shengxie had more in common with a normal sword, but that time has long come and gone. Shengxie is, or at least was, a large, two-handed sword made of a particularly abnormal metallic alloy used by an ancient stellar empire that has long since vanished from history and is almost entirely unheard of in the Imperium. It is incredibly difficult to damage, and when charged with the power of the warp, prone to repairing itself if it is somehow damaged, as if liquifying and flowing back together.  That being said, Shengxie is not a sword that comes in one piece. It is a sword made of innumerable tiny fragments of the greater whole, hence the name. Each is held together by the psychic and warp energy flowing through it, and can be manipulated by it's wielder through the same energies.  Shengxie consists of a hilt, easily capable of fitting two hands of most known species upon it; a semicircular, open-centered crossguard section which sits apart and disconnected from the hilt; and the blade, itself disconnected from the other major components and fragmented into numerous larger chunks held suspended in the general shape of a sword. The metal of Shengxie is not a homogenous color. It is, at its base, a silvery-green, but shifts into a multitude of fiery hues. Reds, oranges, yellows, and everything in between swirls throughout the metal like spilled ink forever stained into the blade. As it shifts and changes with psychic energy, the colors swirl, shimmer, and shift taking on a life of their own.
